Featured Presentation: Applying ABC Concepts to Long-Span/Complex Bridges (35 Minutes)
Description: ABC techniques can offer significant advantages in long span / complex bridge design from the perspectives of both cost and schedule. The use of prefabricated components, repetitive fabrication techniques, and large scale float-in / heavy lift erection methods have been successfully used on recent long span / complex bridge replacement projects to achieve significant reductions in schedule and are cost-competitive with conventional design/construction methods. This presentation will discuss ABC aspects of the Mary Avenue Pedestrian (Cable Stayed) Bridge, the Lake Champlain Bridge (Network Arch) and the Portsmouth Memorial Bridge (Movable – Vertical Lift) from the perspective of ABC concepts and their implementation, together with lessons learned and future directions for ABC.
Question & Answer Period: Submit your questions when you register for the webinar and also in the chat box during the webinar. (15 minutes)

Thank you.
When registering for your webinars, I have noticed that there is no choice under the “Industry” drop-down menu for Construction. I would think that at least a few of your webinar attendees (myself included) are employed in the construction industry. You may want to consider adding that to the drop-down list as an option during registration. Thank you.
Do you have the previous webinars on archive? If you do, what is the link please?
I too would appreciate the webinar presentations shared electronically from an archived website. There are some things I couldn’t write quickly enough from yesterdays presentation. For example I’d like to use continuous deck detail on an ABC project. Thanks.
Hello – the presentation will be available for download at the archive (http://www.abc.fiu.edu/archive-of-past-events/) very soon. Both the powerpoint files and the audio will be made accessible.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts about respect. Regards
